Dr Drew Pinsky described his new celebrity rehab reality TV show to Ellen. Watching the recovery process could save lives by helping people overcome drug addictions.

Dr Drew Pinsky’s celebrity rehab reality tv show helps troubled celebrities find sobriety. Celebrities such as Jaimee Foxworth, Jessica Sierra, Brigitte Nielsen, and Jeff Conaway (from the “Taxi” sitcom) reveal their struggles with drugs and alcohol.

This celebrity rehab reality show describes the thought processes and struggles of addicts – and it’s not Hollywood-style pretty. Celebrity rehab is serious; the idea is to scare the celebrities so much, they have no choice but to stop using drugs and alcohol. Dr Drew Pinsky delves into their drug use, alcoholism, and rehab process on camera as a way to motivate celebrities to recover.

Issues Surrounding Drug & Alcohol Addictions

Dr Drew Pinsky uncovers how and why addictions begin and continue in this celebrity rehab reality show. In one episode, he described how issues with your mom can affect your addiction. Dr Pinsky talked to Jessica Sierra, who was an American Idol finalist. Her mother was a prostitute and drug addict.

“You have to find some form of forgiveness so you can begin to get better,” Dr Pinsky told Jessica. He believes Jessica has post traumatic stress disorder and needs serious treatment for her addictions.

Ellen DeGeneres’ Opinion on Celebrity Rehab

Ellen seems to be a believer. When talking to Dr Pinsky, she said that the show isn’t a “reality show”; instead, it shows reality. The celebrity addicts will die if they don’t get help. These nine courageous celebrities are revealing their treatment, and exposing their most human parts, as well as their serious medical problems.

Celebrity rehab reality TV could prevent viewers from experimenting with drugs. If people see the struggles most addicts face then they may think twice about using drugs. The average person doesn’t know what it’s like to come off horse or beat a cocaine addiction. Seeing celebrities wrestle with their own demons could put a different, ugly face on drugs. For instance, watching Jeff Conaway deal with the effects of drug addiction doesn’t encourage viewers to try it themselves.

Celebrity Rehab Reality TV Can Make a Difference

People are transformed in treatment, but can struggle when they return to certain environments. For instance, Jessica Sierra did well in treatment, but when she went back to Florida for a court order, she ended up in jail.

Dr Pinsky’s Opinion on Britney Spears

Dr Pinsky believes Britney Spears is following the “Anna Nicole Smith blueprint” to the letter. He stresses that when addicts believe they’re going to die, they’re motivated to get well. When addicts think they’ll lose their kids, they’re motivated to get well.

“You can use drugs and alcohol until you die,” said Dr Pinsky. “It’s a serious medical problem. Addiction treatment works. If people do it, they get better.”
